Vietnam travel guide for Indians (2026)

Three regions, three climates, one cheap e-visa. Where to go when, and what it really costs.

Visa and entry for Indian passport holders

e-Visa · up to 90 days

Indian passport holders need a Vietnam e-Visa, applied for online before travel.

  • Apply only at the official portal evisa.gov.vn. Single-entry costs USD 25, multiple-entry USD 50; stay up to 90 days.
  • Processing is 3 working days; apply at least a week before you fly. Upload a passport scan and a plain-background photo.
  • Print the approval — airlines check it at check-in. Enter through the airport you named on the application.
  • There is no visa on arrival for Indians without a pre-approval letter, so do not fly without the e-Visa.

Vegetarian food in Vietnam?

Easier than people expect. Say "chay" (vegetarian) — most cities have chay restaurants, and pho and banh mi come in vegetarian versions. Fish sauce is in many dishes, so ask.
