Visa and entry for Indian passport holders
Visa on arrival · 30 daysIndian passport holders get a 30-day Visa on Arrival at Jakarta, Yogyakarta and other international airports, extendable once.
- IDR 500,000 (about ₹2,700), payable at the airport or in advance as an e-VoA on the official immigration portal.
- All Indonesia Arrival Card (AIAC) is mandatory and completed online before travel.
- The Bali tourist levy applies only in Bali, not in Java.
- Passport valid 6 months, return ticket, accommodation details.
Best time to visit Indonesia
May to September — dry season; clear sunrises at Borobudur and Bromo.
December to February: heavy rain, cloud over Bromo, and slippery temple steps.

Getting there
No direct flights from India to Java. Most routes connect in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore into Jakarta (CGK) or Yogyakarta (YIA). Our package starts in Yogyakarta and ends in Surabaya after Bromo, so an open-jaw ticket saves a day of backtracking — we quote it that way.

Questions we get asked about Indonesia
Is the visa for Java the same as for Bali?
Yes — the Indonesian Visa on Arrival (IDR 500,000, 30 days) covers the whole country. The Bali tourist levy is Bali-only.
Best time to visit Borobudur and Bromo?
May to September, the dry season. Sunrise at both is the point, and clouds in the wet months ruin it.
How much does a Java trip cost from India?
Our 5-night Yogyakarta–Bromo package starts at ₹42,900 per person. Flights connect via Kuala Lumpur or Singapore and are quoted live for your dates. Budget ₹1.0–1.2 lakh per person all in.
Is Java good with children?
Yes for 8+. Borobudur and Prambanan are easy; the Bromo jeep at 3 am and the crater walk are a genuine adventure rather than a stroll.
