No visa, no passport required, ninety minutes from Delhi. The mountains are the only complication.

No visa · ID onlyIndian citizens do not need a visa or a passport to enter Nepal — a valid photo ID is enough.
- Accepted for air travel: passport, or voter ID card (Election Commission). For those over 65 or under 15, Aadhaar or PAN with a photo is accepted by airlines in practice — check with your carrier.
- Indian rupees are accepted in Nepal (notes of ₹100 and below are safest; ₹500 and ₹2,000 notes are officially not accepted).
- No arrival card or fee for Indian nationals.
Best time to visit Nepal
October to November — post-monsoon, the clearest mountain views of the year. March to April is the second window, with rhododendrons in bloom.
June to September monsoon: leeches on trails, cloud over the peaks, and delayed Pokhara flights.

Getting there
Direct flights to Kathmandu from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Varanasi. By road, cross at Sunauli (from Gorakhpur) or Raxaul — we can build a road itinerary from Lucknow or Patna. Kathmandu to Pokhara is a 25-minute flight or a 6–8 hour drive.

Do Indians need a passport for Nepal?
No. A passport or voter ID is enough. Carry the original, not a copy.
Best time to visit Nepal?
October to November for the clearest Himalayan views; March to April for spring. Avoid the June–September monsoon.
How much does a Nepal trip cost?
Our 5-night Kathmandu + Pokhara package starts at ₹29,900 per person. Flights from Delhi were about ₹36,200 return in a November 2026 sample, though Nepal fares vary a lot by date. Budget ₹65,000–75,000 per person.
Can I use Indian rupees in Nepal?
Yes — ₹100 notes and below are accepted almost everywhere. ₹500 and ₹2,000 notes are officially not accepted, so carry small notes or exchange to Nepali rupees.
